The Big Lebowski featuring Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, John Tuturro, Steve Buscemi, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Sam Elliot all under the direction of the Coen Brothers has, indeed, been with us for 20 years.
There has never been another movie like TBL. Ferrets, White Russians, mistaken identity, nihilists against bowlers; it's not just another movie: it's a way of life, a discipline, a philosophy, a plan. An excuse for a hangover.
Okay if you've seen it before, you know you want to see it big at the Strand. If you've never seen it, well, we will let you in anyway.
The movie is free, the popcorn is free. Martin's at Midtown will be pouring White Russians (reasonably priced). Why would you be anywhere else?
